We have decided to register at two of our favorite stores even though we initially thought that a wedding gift registry would be a tad impersonal and materialistic. Several factors made us change our minds:

1) Some guests may prefer the convenience of shopping on-line for a gift that they know we'll cherish.

2) We are backpacking through New Zealand for our honeymoon (with a stopover in Tahiti, of course), so we need to gear up.

3) We, in particular Manu, can never have enough kitchenware with which to entertain our friends and family.  

(this next addition comes to you from Manu) Alternatively, there is one last option. As oceanographers, Kim and I have always dreamed of sailing around the world. Therefore we announce the creation of The Boat Fund. This is a highly lucrative effort on our side to collect the most out of each one of you. The Boat Fund is intended to preserve the inner spirit of our love for the ocean and for each other. Remember "The Love Boat"? So please let your generosity flow towards the ocean! [wink]
